After reading this week's material about social media usage in professional settings, I realized that there are multiple forms and formats that social media can be employed in the workplace, but the general goal is to build relationship networks and share information. It can be a great way to get to know your colleagues, which will create a positive working environment that can help increase everyone's work productivity. Another beneficial aspect of social media at work is the ability to share information almost immediately, usually, it would often take a few business days for a department to contact another department and respond, but with social media, it can be done in a couple of minutes. Words have always been considered the primary form of communication and have contributed to one of the most popular communication channels (verbal). However, non-verbal communication forms that are tended to be expressed through images, and pictures are able to provide us with more reliable information and engage us more than just solely words. Therefore, pictures and images have always been used to convey emotions or thoughts that words failed to on social media platforms, but images and pictures posted on those sites aren't always genuine. They can be adjusted, modified, or even stolen from other sources with the current development of technology, even if an original image is authentic but if you decide to change it using photoshop tools to make it better, it would still be considered a fake image to me. As I mentioned...
